WAAM, 1600 kHz, 5 kW-U, DA-2
WAAM has been on the air since 1947. Originally located at 4230 Packard Rd., the transmitter moved to this site alongside US-23 in 1974. The original callsign was WHRV (Huron River Valley) and was changed to WAAM in 1965 (Ann Arbor Michigan). The station used a number of slogans during its rock & roll programming days, including "Waam - Radio with a Punch" and "The Living End", being at what was at the time the topmost channel in the AM broadcast band.
