Can also look up spots by callsign.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Propagation<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dxmaps.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dxmaps.com<\/a> &#8211; Maps showing paths of spotted QSOs worldwide (most often used for tracking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dxmaps.com\/spots\/map.php?Lan=E&amp;Frec=50&amp;ML=M&amp;Map=NA&amp;DXC=N&amp;HF=N&amp;GL=N\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">6 meters<\/a>). dxmaps will send you e-mail warnings when propagation may exist in your area. Membership in the site is recommended.<\/li>\n<li>NOAA&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Space Weather Prediction Center<\/a> &#8211; Summary of space weather conditions, news stories and more resources. Of particular interest is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\/communities\/radio-communications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Radio Communications Dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/spaceweather.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spaceweather.com<\/a> &#8211; Summary of current solar conditions and space weather<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dxinfocentre.com\/\">DX Info Centre<\/a> &#8211; William Hepburn&#8217;s resource pages for broadcast radio &amp; TV propagation including tropo forecasts that can be of value to hams operating on VHF<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/voacap.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voacap.com<\/a> &#8211; The Voice of America Coverage Analysis Program, a sophisticated HF propagation modeling tool developed by the US NTIA to predict transmission paths for the VOA. Available for free use by the public, it can provide predictions for point-to-point paths, upcoming DXpeditions, and coverage maps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Operating and Contesting<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/miqp.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan QSO Party<\/a> which takes place each year on the third Saturday of April\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nf8m.com\/nf8m\/resources\/michigan-qso-party-county-records-2\/\">County records<\/a> updated through 2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Bruce Horn (WA7BNM)&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/contestcalendar.com\/weeklycont.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Contest Calendar<\/a> &#8211; A weekly grid of contests worldwide and a 14-month summary. Registration required to download.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Tools<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ns6t.net\/word\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ham Stuff<\/a> &#8211; Tom NS6T&#8217;s collection of utilities including an azimuth (great circle) map generator and one that maps your QSOs from an ADIF file.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sigidwiki.com\/wiki\/Signal_Identification_Guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Signal Identification WIKI<\/a> &#8211; A catalog of digital and analog signals, what they look and sound like, and how to figure out how to decode them.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/reversebeacon.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reverse Beacon Network<\/a> &#8211; Part tool (for judging how far you&#8217;re getting out) and part spotting aid (shows who else is being spotted), this is a worldwide network of software-defined receivers which &#8220;skim&#8221; CW traffic, sort out those who are calling CQ or sending TEST, and posts it to the database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Technical Papers<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>W0BTU&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w0btu.com\/Beverage_antennas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beverage Receiving Antennas<\/a> &#8211; An exhaustive article that discusses technical and construction details of long-wire HF\/MF receiving antennas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some web resources that I have found to be useful.
